On the initial boot of your Virtual Appliance, you will be prompted to go through the initial configuration.
- You will need to either open a console on the machine or SSH to the box using an appropriate SSH client. The default login for your appliance is:
Username: cloudsphere
Password: cloudsphere
Note: For legacy appliances, the Username is 'iquate' and Password is 'iquate'. It is recommended that you update the default password after you complete the configuration of your appliance.
Time Zone
Initially, you will need to configure the time zone the appliance will operate in.
- Scroll and select your geographical area (tab to OK and enter to complete):
- Choose an appropriate city for the required time zone (tab to OK and enter to complete):
Network Settings
You will need to configure the appliance with all the required information for it to successfully join your local network.
Note: In the case of a Cloud Appliance (AWS, Azure or GCP) this section will be
dynamically skipped; the Appliance will try to do a series of checks to ensure
it has the appropriate network access, and it will fail in a Cloud Environment.
- Configure host-name and domain;
- Select ‘y’ to confirm or ‘n’ to re-enter the data;
- Enter IP Address, Netmask (optional) and Gateway;
Note: you must use a static IP address from the private IP address range for your local LAN - Select ‘y’ to confirm or ‘n’ to re-enter the data;
- Configure the DNS settings (primary and secondary) for the appliance;
- Select ‘y’ to confirm or ‘n’ to re-enter the data;
- Once all entries have been confirmed the system will run a series of checks to ensure it has the appropriate network access.
- Assuming all network settings are correct you will need to create a license for the appliance and Register the appliance with your CloudSphere account.
